God has a marvelous plan for His people.

In August, final touches were put on the building in anticipation of Dedication Sunday - September 4th, 2005

In July and early August, drywall was worked on in the new building and decorative stone was placed around the new window openings.

In June, the old Church doors were replaced with new windows, the interior walls began to take shape and more face brick has been installed.

In early may, drywall and duct work was begun, exterior face brick installation was began and the stairs were installed.
.

In late april, the air conditioners were installed on the new roof, stairs were installed, and metal stud walls were built.

In the first half of april, demolition within the Church was continued and replacement of the existing Church roof was begun. Workers dug the elevator pit in the basement for the new equipment. The only remaining demolition work is to cut the existing Church wall to allow for joining of the two buildings.

Following a joyous Easter celebration, work was quickly begun on demolition within the Church where the new building will be joined with the old. To allow workers the ability to progress without interference services were moved to the school gym for the next few months.

In late march, work on interior duct work and plumbing has been started and the face brick is being applied.

In march, the building has been mostly enclosed, the cement floor has been poured, and renovation work has begun in the Church with the removal of a stained glass window that will be re-located.

In late february, the roof trusses were installed on the building.

In early february, the building has begun to take shape, and workers are able to walk on the second level. The block walls have taken on shape as well.

In early January, the steel workers began constructing the steel beams throughout the site

Blessed with a mild December, significant progress has been made on the masonry work and block walls

Throughout Early December, progress has been made on the lower level walls. Due to the cold, work was completed under tarps to protect both workers and their work.

Throughout November, progress was made on the foundation and retaining wall.

On November 11th, work was begun on the concrete footings for the new building.

On November 2nd, excavation of the primary building site began.

On October 22nd, the vacant house at 212 S Grant Street was demolished. This represented the actual start of construction at the site for the Childcare Center.

Under the theme, "His Plans . . . Our Future", based on Jerimiah 29:11, Zion Lutheran Church broke ground on its Child Care Center which is planned to open by September, 2005. Following Village approval, the groundbreaking ceremony was held August 1st, 2004.

In addition to the Early Childhood Education Center, we will be expanding our entrance with a large gathering area, equipped with an elevator and handicap accessible bathrooms, new church offices and additional facility upgrades, such as sanctuary and fellowship hall air conditioning, new heating system and a new roof.
