The reception of individuals into baptized and communion fellowship at Zion is offered by:

  1. Profession of Faith: Adults who for the first time are affiliating with a Christian congregation or who have previously been affiliated with another denomination. This is usually accomplished by attending our Adult Christian Inquiry Class offered throughout the year. Classes can be tailored to fit your busy schedule.
  2. Baptism
  3. Transfer of Membership: From another congregation affiliated with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
  4. Reaffirmation of Faith: Adults previously confirmed in the Lutheran faith but who do not currently have membership in a congregation and desire reinstatement.  Attendance at one of our Adult Christian Inquiry Classes is encouraged.
We would like to be your church family and we extend the warm hand of fellowship to you. Please consider experiencing God’s love with us at Zion. You may contact Pastor Klein at any time if you would like to proceed with membership of if you have any questions. Our mission as followers of our Lord Jesus Christ is to invite people into a relationship with Jesus Christ, so that they become part of the community of believers and grow in faith and service to Him through worship, fellowship, nurture, care and prayer.

We believe that Zion Lutheran Church was birthed and planted in this location to reach the people of Hinsdale and surrounding communities with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ so that the members of these communities may be led into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, become active participants with us in the body of Christ in the core ministries of worship, fellowship, nurture, care and prayer, and ultimately grow to maturity of faith and life, living their lives to the glory and honor of God.

To do this we will:
  • Provide inspirational worship services that will appeal to people of all walks, where the Word of God is proclaimed in a way that will touch hearts and produce fruits of faith and love in the lives of all who worship with us, and where the Sacraments are celebrated as joyful observances of God's work for and among His people.
  • Design ministry events that will bring people together for times of sharing their faith and life experiences, as well as meaningful fellowship with one another.
  • Nurture all individuals in our school and parish, using clear Biblical principles, in a way that will stimulate growth in faith and meaningful service to Christ and to one another by developing and promoting educational opportunities for all ages.
  • Provide opportunities for all to discover their spiritual passions and gifts and learn to serve Christ using the unique gifts He has given them.
