Welcome
Welcome to Zion Lutheran Church from Pastor Jay Klein
Zion-Hinsdale is made up of people who are building and strengthening their relationship with Jesus Christ and are making life’s journey with Him into the world each day.
The name Zion is from the Hebrew meaning “lofty” or “elevated.” Originally, Zion was a steep slope between the 2 valleys of Jerusalem and was the site of the Jebusite fortress (2 Samuel 5:7). Subsequently, the name Zion was used of the temple mount (Isaiah 10:12) and later of the entire city of Jerusalem (Isaiah 28:16). In the New Testament, Mount Zion is referred to as God’s heavenly home, which is inviting and gracious; it is “the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem” (Hebrews 12:22).
Here at Zion Church-Hinsdale, we strive to live up to our name, a place where individuals can experience the living God in worship, build and strengthen their relationship with Jesus and meet welcoming friends and neighbors. We want to be the place in this community where people can discover and experience the reality of God’s unconditional love and acceptance for themselves.
To that end, we gather as church weekly to be refreshed, renewed and encouraged and we invite you to experience life’s journey with us today.
