God's Vision, Our Mission:  To Build and Strengthen Relationships with Jesus Christ and Each Other

Relationships don't just happen, we need to cultivate friendships.  A small group Bible study can be the place where it is safe to share out thoughts about God's Word.  A place to get prayer support, and encouragement in times of trouble.  A place to share the joys and blessings that Jesus Christ provides for us.

Youth Education

Zion offers a Biblically-based religious education program for children every Wednesday afternoon, September through May, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM.

3rd - 6th Grades

Students learn about God's promises in the Old Testament and study stories of Jesus' life in the New Testament. The class is taught by Mrs. Cindy Lithio, who also teaches our 4-year-olds in the ECEC.

7th - 8th Grades

As they prepare to affirm their baptismal vows in the Rite of Confirmation on Reformation Sunday of their 9th-grade year, students study the Bible and Martin Luther's Small Catechism with Pastor Kein as they reflect on their Christian-Lutheran identities.

"Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me...Matthew 19:14

Join us! These classes are open to any child - Lutheran or not.

Angels

What do you know about angels?  How they came to be. What they are.  What their purpose is.

The Wednesday Morning Ladies' Bible Study recently discussed these topics and dispelled myths about angels. Six sessions were held:  February 21, March 6 & 20, April 3 & 17, and May 1. We met in the Conference Room on the main level of the church from 9:30 to 11:15 AM. We are a group of ladies who welcome newcomers. We have all "been there".

We are currently on summer break but will resume in the fall. We are seeking potential topics for our fall sessions, so please let us know if you wish to join us and if you have a topic idea to share. Just call Debbie at the church office (630-323-0384) and she will add your name to our group.

Men In The Morning

Men at Zion, along with several from other churches in the community, gather in Zion's Fellowship Hall every Thursday morning at 7:30 to review and discuss the weekly Bible readings. Through the fellowship that is enjoyed, participants respond by actively supporting those in need.  We begin each session with prayer requests for individuals and groups. We also unite around community needs through donations of time, talents, and monetary resources.
